On behalf of the NABJ Education Task Force, this panel focuses on HBCU radio trends and preservation issues. There are more than 100 HBCUs in the nation and at least 29 own and operate stations targeted for the HBCU Radio Preservation Project. Other topics include programming, business models, audience, curriculum opportunities plus technologies such as streaming and podcasts. Lessons from the HBCU Radio Preservation Director Jocelyn Robinson and station representatives from WMUR and WEAA at Morgan State University, WANM at FAMU, and WVAS at Alabama State University will share highlights as well as Dr. Marquita Smith and Dr. Dorothy Bland.
