I work to bridge the gap between Earth science research and public understanding, creating learning opportunities that empower people to make informed decisions about the ever-changing environment and natural resources. I work with Earth science researchers to design, implement, and evaluate broader impacts of their research. I support organizations and agencies in creating learning opportunities for stakeholders and communities. I review creative data-rich curriculum materials that engage learners in place-based solutions.
I have over 25 years of experience as a science teacher, curriculum designer, instructional coach, and educational consultant, working with various schools, organizations, and agencies to promote Earth systems science education. I am a National Board Certified Teacher and an AAAS Fellow, recognized for my leadership and vision in geoscience education. I have also served as a Department of Energy Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow at NSF-GEO, where I supported the broader impacts of geoscience research. I am committed to helping learners of all ages and backgrounds appreciate the fundamental Earth processes that shape our planet and our lives.
