I'm Mostofa Kamal, born in Bangladesh, a Ph.D. student in the School of Environment and Sustainability at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, specializing in supercell thunderstorms over the Canadian Prairies. I have a rich academic background, including M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Physics from Shahjalal University, a postgraduate diploma in Earth System Physics from ICTP, Italy, and an M.Sc. in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of Waterloo, Canada.
Besides my Ph.D. study, I founded https://abohawa.com/ to provide daily weather forecasts and warnings for Bangla speakers in Bangladesh and West Bengal, India. A science communication enthusiast, I promote STEM education in Canada and in Bangladesh via science blogs, op-eds, invited talks, and TV interviews. I'm a member of the Municipal Planning Commission for the city of Saskatoon, SK, Canada and AMS BOGM. I led University of Saskatchewan Graduate Students' Association as President (2022-2024).
