Fred L. Ogden is a hydrological model developer with extensive experience in tropical hydrology, hydraulic engineering, and the modeling of flow of water through soils. Dr. Ogden’s publications on groundwater protection, sediment control at riverside water intakes, and a revolutionary solution of the 1-D Richards’ equation governing the flow of water through soils, have received awards. He has led development of several hydrological models that are in use worldwide. He is a Civil Engineering professor on leave from the University of Wyoming, presently UCAR Senior Visiting Scientist and Academic in Residence at the U.S. National Water Center, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
