We present the interest of considering satellite imaging in addition to seismic data in order to better understand the nature of shallow seismic events. Both datasets have pros and cons that need to be fully understood. However the combination of the two types of data shows a high potential in regions lacking substantial seismic station coverage, especially for quantifying the source parameters of moderate magnitude events.
