IMPACT is a citizen science project that invites people from around the world to help study space weather by identifying patterns in data from satellites and ground-based instruments. These patterns show how energetic particles from space enter Earth’s atmosphere, affecting communication systems and increasing radiation risks. IMPACT provides easy online tools and training so anyone can participate without any science background needed. Volunteers receive certificates for their contributions and gain access to learning resources, scholarships, and career opportunities. The project especially supports students and early-career scientists in communities with limited access to space science education and research.
