Wildfires can cause major problems for drinking water, especially in surface water reservoirs. We are building a tool that uses satellite data, fire maps, and local models to identify which watersheds are at risk and how they are recovering. This will help cities and small towns prepare for post-fire floods, sediment surges, and algal blooms—especially in places with limited resources.
