Maritime activity has been increasing in the Bering Strait as sea ice retreats.
Hotspot analysis shows that the ATBA policy is effective in altering vessel routing.
The ATBA policy was highly effective for ‘Cargo & Tanker’, ‘Tug’, and ‘Other’ vessels.
Voluntary policy is one effective way of managing maritime activity.
