Artificial Intelligence (AI) data driven methods provide a new set of tools for all science. Cloud and precipitation physics is no exception. This presentation will argue that we have been integrating cloud observations with modeling for a long time. . This talk will provide some examples of how AI methods are accelerating progress in using observations and detailed models to understand clouds and their role in weather extremes from minutes to decadal timescales.
