Understanding solar atmospheric heating mechanisms is a critical topic for our understanding of the Sun as a whole. This work consists of a time-dependent analysis of a heating mechanism called 'Cowling heating,' which is caused by the dissipation of electric currents that are perpendicular to magnetic field lines. Our subject is a light-bridge, which is a structure formed by magnetic field lines connecting above a sunspot, carrying hotter, photospheric material over the cooler sunspot material. This research has found a correlation between the amount of Cowling heating in this light-bridge and the temperature over a three-hour time span.
