Aboveground biomass density (AGBD) maps derived using different ground data, remote sensing data, or modeling approaches differed less due to these variables than to the scale of evaluation. Differences in map precision were more apparent at local scales (plot or stand level) than at coarser scales (county level). Locally, lidar-derived maps were most precise, followed by Landsat image-derived AGBD maps, followed by radar-derived AGBD maps.
