Microplastics are widespread in bivalve tissue, sediment, and water in the Allegheny. Strong correlation of microplastics in the invasive Asian clam and surrounding water and sediment, but not native species. Urban land, catchment area, and distance to sewage treatment plants correlate with microplastic abundance.
