The Pacific Northwest (PNW) experienced a record breaking heatwave in June and July of 2021. Previous studies observed widespread leaf damage from the heatwave along the Oregon and Washington coast, but questions still remain on how the heatwave impacted plants across the entire PNW. Our study used several satellite plant health markers that indicated opposing heatwave responses in Western Washington and Oregon. These findings bring into question how we interpret different vegetation products during stressful events.
