Many studies have been done to quantify long-term (e.g. annual) methane emissions from active oil and gas producing basins. Each study uses its own methods and scaling to estimate annual emissions. This project includes one of the first studies to use two model methods on the same underlying measurements to develop annual estimates. We discuss the model methods, reasons for disagreement, and progress on bringing the two models into better agreement with each other.
