Streams and rivers are important for habitat health and drinking water quality. Imbalances of carbon and nutrients, such as nitrogen, can be responsible for ecosystem contamination, a concern for environmental regulators. Using large, long-term datasets, this study explores patterns and trends in these constituents and their relative ratios to identify relationships between these variables across spatial and temporal scales.
