The Marine Geoscience Data System (MGDS) offers tools and services that make it easier to share and discover deep-sea submersible data. MGDS works with multiple data providers, to support data submission, assign permanent identifiers, and connect data with related data products and publications. The MGDS metadata validation system can adjust to each operator’s workflow, and automates quality checks data and metadata. By lowering barriers to access and improving data quality, MGDS helps the scientific community make better use of deep-sea data for research and discovery.
