Using seismic interferometry, we estimated temporal changes in the subsurface water level at Beppu, Japan. A specific phase peak in the vertical-component autocorrelation function shifted to an earlier time as the water level dropped. This trend aligned with the actual changes in water level. The study demonstrates the potential of using ambient noise for monitoring temporal changes in subsurface structures.
