Elasticity tensors control how seismic waves move through materials and are an essential piece of every seismic study, especially those focused on anisotropy. Elasticity tensors are also one of the more difficult concepts to teach and understand. TVguide is an online tool that allows anyone to visualize how velocity varies with direction for different elasticity tensors. The tool includes a database of tensors and some basic analysis tools for investigating symmetry and averaging tensors together. TVguide is designed for educational and exploratory use, and we have also created a set of tutorials and teaching modules geared towards upper lever undergraduate students.
