The Lunar Capillary Absorption Spectrometer (LuCAS) is a novel instrument being developed to measure abundance and isotopic ratio of volatile species that are expected to be present on the lunar poles. Ongoing work will develop this system to a NASA Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6. This will include the design of flight hardware and end-to-end demonstrations with the Planetary Volatiles Extractor (PVEx).
