SH31D-2494: The Case for Reverse-fly Simulation and More Time in Calibration: A Path Towards More Accurate Assessment of Plasma Instrument Geometric Factor
Author(s): Christopher Bert, Southwest Research Institute (First Author) Roman Gomez, Southwest Research Institute (Presenting Author) Stephen Fuselier, Southwest Research Institute David Young, Southwest Research Institute
Space plasma instrument characterization occurs before the item is manufactured and again before delivery. We present a multi-stage approach that provides accurate pre-assessment, before calibration, and traceability, afterwards. This approach also strongly advocates for more time allocation to calibration activities.
