Using three sources of data we more fully describe the way ultraviolet light is absorbed in smoke and dust layers found regularly in the atmosphere. The complementary data sources from a long-term mission, a high spectral and spatial mission, plus a new mission with detailed information about the vertical help us describe these dust and smoke plumes in new, detailed ways that are important for air quality and climate.
