Sustainable Land and Water Resources Research Experience for Undergraduates (SLAWR) REU; https://reuslawr.org) is a 15-year-long REU program that introduces undergraduate students to Earth systems science by weaving Indigenous knowledge with Western knowledge to advance scientific understanding and support tribal management decisions. Students are mentored through the entire research process in ways that are “student-tailored, culturally-based, and family and community focused” (AICF, 2023). This presentation focuses on a reflection of the past 15 years to assess the changes and impact of the program.
