Samples from asteroid Bennu reveal the complex history of aqueous alteration experienced by Bennu's parent body. We examined minerals in Bennu samples that precipitated from such ancient fluids. They reveal a complex history of growth and alteration and our results help fill important gaps in our understanding of the nature of fluids, secondary mineralization, and element mobilization on Bennu’s parent body.
