This study looked at Cyclone Remal using a computer weather model to see how different input data affects storm strength. We ran two separate simulations using global weather datasets and then calculated the Power Dissipation Index, or PDI. PDI is a number that reflects how much energy a cyclone releases over time, based on wind speed. By comparing this with official storm records, we could see how well the model captured the storm’s power. Understanding PDI helps scientists check how accurate their forecasts are. This kind of research is useful for improving early warnings and planning for future storms.
