The Heliophysics Digital Resource Library (HDRL) continues to improve access to NASA heliophysics data and software by enhancing the FAIRness (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reusability) of its resources. Following outreach at AGU 2024, HDRL conducted a hands-on session at the 2025 NSF SHINE meeting, introducing researchers and students to the beta version of the new HelioData website (helio.data.nasa.gov) and cloud-based HelioCloud services. The session gathered valuable feedback on usability, interface design, data discoverability, and analysis workflows.Participants highlighted several challenges, including inconsistent metadata across missions, limited multi-instrument search capabilities, interface confusion, and lag in data updates. A strong need was expressed for tools to support the transition from IDL to Python, reproducible computing environments, and ML-ready datasets. Requests also included better integration with personal research workflows, improved documentation, and enhanced support for underrepresented datasets like Solar Orbiter.
HDRL is incorporating this feedback to refine HelioData and related services, focusing on improved UI/UX, enhanced search tools, and Open Science–aligned support for code sharing and analysis. At AGU 2025, HDRL will present these updates and continue gathering feedback to ensure that its resources meet the evolving needs of the heliophysics community and support both new and seasoned researchers.
