Earth scientists often build complex models and collect real-time data, but it can be hard to turn that information into tools that decision-makers can actually use when managing natural resources. The Tethys Platform helps solve this problem. It’s a free, open-source software tool that makes it easier for scientists to create interactive web apps—like maps, dashboards, and data viewers—without needing to be expert programmers. These apps help communicate scientific results in clear and useful ways.Tethys brings together several powerful mapping and data tools into one easy-to-use framework. The platform is used around the world by organizations like NASA, NOAA, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This talk will show how scientists are using Tethys today, highlight real-world examples, and explain how new technologies like cloud computing are helping Tethys support smarter, faster decisions in Earth science.
