Topography plays a significant role in the thermal behavior of permanently shadowed regions (PSRs) on the Moon. It influences secondary illumination, which is the primary factor affecting thermal balance. In this study, we utilize the Irradiance Transfer Function (ITF), derived from the topography, to evaluate the amount of energy from direct illumination that is transferred to the PSRs. We compare and analyze the ITF for ten large PSRs located at the south pole.
