We present a new model that predicts how soils respond to alkalinity inputs during enhanced weathering. By linking soil pH buffering, cation exchange, and lime requirement, this approach improves estimates of carbon dioxide removal potential in acidic soils and enables effective deployment of alkaline feedstocks in agricultural settings.
