Soil aggregate stability, organic carbon content, and microbial biomass are metrics used to measure soil health for agriculture and environmental applications. Current tests for measuring these soil properties are slow and expensive. Our new testing method uses neural networks and machine learning to rapidly analyze microscope pictures of soil samples to estimate these properties, making their measurement faster and more affordable.
