This climate action planning process is unique in that it takes into account community input and values in decision-making processes for climate mitigation resulting in the first climate action plan to put Louisiana on the path to net zero by 2050. It was unanimously voted on by by a task force of 24 members from a wide ranging background including representation from the energy industry, chemical industry, as well as Indigenous people groups and historically disadvantaged populations.
