Climate change, land degradation, and a decrease in cropland due to the expansion of cities and uncertain weather conditions, cropping intensity had changed considerably over the globe. Cropping intensity may be defined as the number of crops sown on the field in a single agricultural year. It is a key indicator of the effective and extensive use of cropland and grain production. Ground based agricultural survey are not cost and time effective for large scale framland. This study uses satellite data for cropping intensity monitoring using vegetation index. We tested our method in three farming areas and compared results with actual farm visits government data ensure accuracy. We found that the first area mostly grew one crop per year, the second area typically grew two crops annually, and the third area had a mix of both patterns. The method offers a practical, cost-effective way to monitor crop patterns across vast regions, helping governments and organizations plan food production and ensure adequate food security.
