The Solar Orbiter spacecraft carries a camera called SoloHI that captures wide-angle images of space near the Sun. In addition to solar wind and light scattered by particles, these images may also reveal signs of interplanetary dust—both as a diffuse background and as short-lived streaks from possible dust impacts. We identify early dust-related signals in SoloHI data and track when and where they appear. Although more work is needed to confirm and characterize these events, SoloHI shows promise for remotely studying dust near the Sun.
