Presentation | SY44A: Advances in Translating Measured Methane Emissions into Greenhouse Gas Inventories for the Oil and Gas Supply Chains II Oral
Oral
SY44A-02: Large-scale surveys of emissions in the Haynesville and Anadarko basins: Combining multiple top-down measurements with simulations to estimate total emissions (invited)
We present results from a large scale survey of methane emissions in two major oil and gas basins over two years. We integrate data from hundreds of thousands of site visits using infrared imagery to characterize methane plumes in the Haynesville and Anadarko basins of the central US. These survey data are supplemented with space-based observations and statistical modeling of small sources. We will explain methods and results, offering insights into rigorous methods of data integration between different types of sensors.
