This study conducted in-situ LAI measurements in Southern California's urban tree, comparing ground-based observations with satellite LAI products. The results will be used to evaluate the accuracy of satellite LAI products in capturing seasonal variability and spatial heterogeneity. The LAI-2000 instrument will also provide species-level estimates for the selection or refinement of default parameters for specific vegetation types in Earth system models.
