This interdisciplinary session explores the influence of inland waters on the Earth’s biosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere across spatiotemporal scales, as well as their responses to various environmental and anthropogenic drivers of change. We welcome abstracts on topics including, but not limited to:

  • Limnology: Physical, chemical, and biological properties; lake geology and geological records; watershed ecology; anthropogenic impacts. • Hydrology: Water levels, watershed dynamics, and related research.

  • Lake-Atmosphere interactions: Lake-effect precipitation and lake-induced storms; diurnal and seasonal temperature modulation; microscale and mesoscale climate effects; boundary layer modifications.

  • Data and modeling: Physical and ecological modeling; GIS and remote sensing; observational data; development of new datasets.

  • Impacts of climate change on inland water bodies.

  • Policy and management: Sustainable management of inland waters, economic assessments, and policy considerations.

We encourage contributions from a range of disciplines and methodologies to foster a comprehensive understanding of these systems.
