This session invites presentations on the subduction zones surrounding the Caribbean plate, where subduction inputs, sediment thickness, plate roughness, forearc structure, mass transport, fluid processes, seismicity, and active volcanism vary significantly. We seek contributions focused on these margins that explore slip behavior and deformation along the megathrust and upper plate, forearc architecture from geophysical surveys, long-term structural and thermal evolution, as well as volcanic hazards and gas outputs. We particularly invite discussions of how forearc and arc processes vary between the Lesser Antilles convergent margin and the forearc-arc complex of the Pacific margin of Central America, including the kinematics of their forearc slivers. We also welcome submissions that highlight new research across all ancient and modern subduction zones, including but not limited to, those utilizing plate reconstructions, on-land and marine geology, volcanology, geophysics, thermal and geodynamic modeling, geochemistry, petrology, paleoseismology, and experimental studies.
