Exposure to environmental stressors e.g. air, soil, water pollution; climate extremes e.g., floods, storms, droughts, excessive heat; and hazardous chemicals threatens human health, ecosystems, and the overall quality of life in innumerable ways. This session invites scientific efforts exploring advanced tools, technologies, and methodologies to monitor, model, and reduce such environmental exposures. Topics may include but are not limited to, low-level pollution detection technologies, personal indoor/outdoor exposure assessment, satellite remote sensing, low-cost monitoring networks, high-resolution modeling, usage of machine learning and artificial intelligence, epidemiological methodologies linking exposure and health burdens, exposure reduction strategies, etc. Real-world applications in ensuring and improving community engagement and resilience, personal preparedness, early warning systems, policy infrastructures, and decision-making for the ultimate protection of human health are especially encouraged. This session aims to establish a holistic understanding of environmental exposure handling and mitigation by promoting interdisciplinary research in environmental science, epidemiology, public health, and policy aspects.
