Building on AGU2025’s Where Science Connects Us theme, this session highlights innovative integration of NASA or other remote sensing into day-to-day water management practices in the water-stressed US West. In-situ monitoring will always have incalculable value but reflects spatial point measurements of heterogeneous processes - critical gaps filled by remote sensing. However, research-community successes are often disconnected from applications-community practices. Presentations will share innovation bringing remote sensing into production-level decision-support systems. Examples include flood, water supply, and drought forecasting; water, hydroelectricity, and drought planning; water markets; groundwater management; surface water-groundwater-cryosphere-atmosphere interactions; water quality, including HAB monitoring/forecasting; aquatic habitat restoration, including dam removal; tech-related water uses like server farms and REE/lithium mines; economic valuation of EO-enabled water-management improvements; and wildfire and other LULC change impacts on floods, water quality, and water supply. Co-developed outcomes leveraging multi-sectoral partnerships across academia, government, and the for-profit and nonprofit private sectors are especially welcomed.
