Santorini is one of the most well studied arc volcanoes, yet the volcano-tectonic dynamics of the region are not fully understood. A recent seismic crisis prompted significant interest in the sources of volcanism and interplay with local faulting. This session invites contributions from seismic, tectonic, petrological, geochemical, and other disciplines that explore this region. We encourage studies related to the January–February 2025 seismic swarm, which prompted evacuations and highlighted the real-time impact of volcanic hazards on Greek communities. With recent and ongoing efforts, including marine geophysical surveys and results from the IODP drilling cruise, this is a timely opportunity to integrate diverse research threads. We welcome submissions on magmatic processes, tectonic evolution, eruption history, and monitoring strategies, as well as comparative studies from similar volcano-tectonic systems. This session will bring together a broad community sharing insights and fostering collaboration on one of Earth’s most iconic and actively studied volcanic regions.
