From daily tasks like weather forecasting to advancing sustainable development goals, earth science information plays critical roles in society. Despite the importance, there is a lack of appreciation for the earth science information by different stakeholders in the society. To address this issue of underappreciation, the Earth science community should explore transdisciplinary approaches that highlight and amplify the value of Earth science information. This would ensure robust future investment in research and development to further advance Earth science information systems. This session will showcase approaches to study, quantify, and communicate the value of Earth science information for the society including but not limited to:1. Economic studies that evaluate the value of Earth science information.2. Case studies of contributions of Earth science information to society.3. Novel storytelling of societal benefits of Earth science information.4. Education and engagement activities that demonstrate the value of Earth science information.
