This session will focus on the intricate and dynamic interactions between microbial communities and water, weather and climate processes, particularly under the stress of highly variable environmental conditions. Session will showcase cutting-edge research that examines how fluctuations in temperature, precipitation, and sea levels influence microbial diversity, ecosystem functions, and resilience. By understanding these complex dynamics, we can better predict and mitigate the impacts of environmental change on aquatic ecosystems and water quality. Our goal is to foster interdisciplinary discussions and collaborations that enhance our understanding of microbial ecology in water environments affected by climate variability. Additionally, we aim to ensure water security in the face of changing environmental conditions by leveraging the insights gained from the field of microbial ecology and contribute to the sustainable management of aquatic resources in a rapidly changing world.
