Primary Convener:
Haley Dunleavy, University of Alaska Fairbanks

Toolik Field Station is a leading, year-round Arctic research, observation, and education facility, providing insight to address local and global challenges of the rapidly changing Arctic. In half a century, Toolik Field Station, operated by the University of Alaska Fairbanks with support from the National Science Foundation, has grown from a collection of tents on the tundra to a world-class scientific facility, supporting and connecting Arctic researchers across the U.S. and the globe. Research at the station spans the fields of ecology, biogeochemistry, space physics, atmospheric sciences, hydrology, and more. As we cap off 50 years of Toolik research, station managers and scientists will reflect on the station’s accomplishments in safely, sustainably, and openly fostering Arctic research and education and look towards what’s to come. Join this town hall as we highlight the station’s major advancements and solicit attendees for what scientific questions, educational and outreach opportunities, and developments the Toolik community should pursue next. All are welcome to attend, share feedback, and connect — whether a current Toolik community member, a past researcher, or new to Arctic research.
