The availability of accurate agricultural data at subnational scales is crucial for purposes of informing modern agricultural practices and policies, especially with respect to climate change. However, the current landscape of such data is highly fragmented across different regions of the world, though recent efforts have made significant progress in harmonizing global agricultural data. Through this session, we will bring together communities focused on innovations in data collection, validation, and applications for agricultural systems. We welcome submissions in three related areas: (1) agricultural datasets such as yield, land use, irrigation, fertilizer or pesticides; (2) methods for agricultural dataset creation including remote sensing measurement methods, approaches to determine the quality of reported measures, or methods for standardizing temporally or spatially variable units; and (3) applications of new methods, examination of new datasets, and new insights into the effects of climate or other environmental changes on agricultural systems.
