Geosciences includes a wide range of disciplines within the Earth and space sciences, from Atmospheric Sciences and Hydrology to Education and GeoHealth. Thus, AGU (and similar societies) represent a diverse range of scientific activities that have led to some of the most innovative and impactful discoveries, solutions, and changes in the last century. At the same time, these disciplines have also led to better understanding of key gaps, challenges and areas of opportunities and improvements within the Earth and Space sciences. In this unique union session, we will invite leaders from several AGU Sections to present on the top three societal impacts and contributions from their sections in the last decade. We will then have a facilitated discussion with these leaders on exciting new areas of future work, key gaps and challenges, as well as avenues for continued societal impact by Earth and Space scientists.
