Accurate representations of ocean bathymetry are foundational for understanding ocean circulation, plate tectonics, marine habitats, and paleoclimate systems. This session invites contributions from a diverse range of research focused on the acquisition, analysis, and interpretation of bathymetric data - spanning from high-resolution modern seafloor mapping to innovative reconstructions of paleobathymetry over geologic time.We welcome studies employing shipborne and satellite altimetry, seismic stratigraphy, geodynamic modeling, plate reconstructions, and paleo-topographic interpolation. We are especially interested in research that integrates bathymetric data with physical oceanography, sediment transport, marine ecology, or climate modeling, both in modern and deep-time contexts.Submissions are encouraged from interdisciplinary teams working at the intersection of geophysics, oceanography, tectonics, and paleoclimatology. This session aims to foster cross-disciplinary dialogue and showcase how evolving bathymetric reconstructions influence our understanding of Earth system processes across time.
