The 21st century is defined by deep interdependence—across Earth and space environments, social and technological systems, and the physical and human sciences. As complexity reshapes risk landscapes for socio-ecological-technological systems, there is an urgent need for a new field of resilience science to understand and navigate this interconnected world. This session invites contributions that highlight frontier research on risk and resilience across physical science, climate, social science, and critical infrastructure. We aim to cohere diverse work into a new paradigm grounded in complexity science, systems thinking, and multi-hazard multi-scale approaches.Topics include multi-hazards, interdependent systems, network science, collective behavior, uncertainty quantification, and vulnerability. We especially welcome integrative work that bridges Earth and space science with socio-technical systems. Our goal is to catalyze a new kind of scientific inquiry—and a new community—committed to building resilience for an interdependent world.
