This session addresses the critical challenge of data-informed and stakeholder-informed water resources planning and management. We seek contributions showcasing novel tools and methodologies for monitoring, assessing, planning, managing, and allocating water resources in the face of climate change, population growth, and land use shifts. We encourage presentations highlighting successful approaches to stakeholder engagement and participatory modeling in water management decision-making processes. Further, evaluating and understanding the source of conflicting stakeholder objectives and the impact on the decision-making progress is essential, and this session will welcome presentations that use strategies such as game theory to understand these conflicts and resolutions. By exploring innovative strategies and fostering dialogue between researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders, this session aims to advance our understanding of integrated water resource planning and promote effective adaptation strategies in a rapidly changing world. Presentations on water resources planning for looming AI infrastructure are especially encouraged.
