To educate the next generation of Earth and Space Scientists, it's essential to select highly qualified candidates and integrate them into the field’s community and culture in ways that ensure they feel seen and heard. Admissions criteria should consider not only academic success but also applicants’ life experiences and the potential impact of the program on their development. Once admitted, new members need support in connecting with peers and learning the cultural norms that foster both individual and collective scientific success. We invite abstracts from authors involved in education initiatives that apply innovative admissions criteria and foster inclusive, supportive communities. Submissions may describe undergraduate or graduate programs that promote excellence while nurturing a healthy, collaborative scientific culture. We aim to share experiences, lessons learned, opportunities for support, and collective insights. If time allows, the session will include a discussion among speakers and participants.
