Satellite Earth observations are increasingly used in complement with in-situ monitoring to meet growing demands for timely, actionable water information. As competing demands on water intensify globally, decisions around water management are becoming more complex, requiring innovative, scalable solutions. This session highlights advances in water resources understanding and decision-making made possible through the integration of NASA’s satellite Earth observations either directly or through data assimilation and AI/ML into hydrologic modeling systems. We welcome contributions that bridge research and practice to address drought and flood risk, water quantity and quality, and groundwater sustainability. We are interested in water management approaches that enhance spatio-temporal fidelity, reduce uncertainty, and support decision-making. Submissions that demonstrate how NASA-based innovations are helping local, state, and industry organizations better assess water-related risks and build resilience are strongly encouraged, as are case studies that showcase real-world impact, multi-sectoral collaboration, co-production with end users, or the scalability of solutions.
