Recent years have witnessed significant advances in spatially-explicit applied geospatial data science approaches for the study of rapidly changing ecosystems. Urban landscapes and ecosystem processes are recognized for their rapid changes that are driven by climate change and growth of population. Over the past decade studies on urban changes has significantly expanded to investigate multi-faceted nature of urbanization and resulting changes in urban ecosystem processes. Yet, there is a growing need, from academic and scientific community as well as policy-makers, for science-based information and evidence to enhance our understanding of the rapidly changing urban landscapes, their ecological processes and impacts on urban communities. This session welcome submissions from applied as well as social science researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders. Applications that investigate geospatial data science approaches for integrating geospatial data, modeling capabilities and Geo-AI tools and various other computer and data science applications are encouraged.
